Submission of the Doctoral Thesis

Please note that from 4 January 2016, the application for submission of your dissertation must be made via DocGS.  

Members of the TUM Graduate School

Members of the TUM Graduate School have to file an application over their DocGS account. Just click on „Application on submission“ in your DocGS progress tree. Please note that this function will only be available after you have fulfilled all the required qualification elements of the TUM-GS.

Members of the TUM Graduate School (voluntary membership)

Please do not create a new user account, because your data has already been stored in DocGS! If you have questions about your DocGS account, please contact the support team DocGS at docgs@zv.tum.de.

Non members

In this case, you will need a DocGS account first. For information on how to create a DocGS account. Once your user profile is complete, you can submit your application via the "submission of dissertation". If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact the DocGS support Team via docgs@zv.tum.de.

Certificate and Transcript of Records (only for voluntary members of the TUM Graduate School)

If you want a certificate and a transcript of records (ToR), you can receive an Excel template from FGC-BGU and fill it with your qualifications corresponding with these instructions.

Then send the file via email to the FGC BGU. In this mail also specify accurate information on the following items:

  • full name
  • first name (as stated in your identification card)
  • title and name of your supervisor (how it should appear in the certificate)
  • if desired: title and name of the mentor (how it should appear in the certificate)
  • date of birth
  • place of birth
  • master's title (e.g .: M.Sc.)
  • title of the thesis
  • aspired title (Dr.-Ing. or Dr. rer. nat.)

The Graduate Centre of the Department Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering (FGC-BGU) offers financial assistance for doctoral candidates who do not have any funding for their last month of their doctorate (rigorosum). For more informations contact the FGC-BGU, Dr. Ing. A. Spengler.
