International Student Workshop: INNOVATING FOR A JUST TRANSITION

The students will select a city, assess the social/ environmental/ economic challenges that the city is currently facing, and will co-design a solution that tackles those challenges to transition to a more sustainable, healthier and just environment. The students will need to develop a concept, explain the stakeholders’ powers to develop the solution, and the several impacts on the communities.

We are looking forward to the international student workshop on “Innovating for a just transition”. The workshop will take place on December 15th 2020 (1pm European time) and is organised by the Technical University of Munich, the École Centrale de Nantes (France), the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) as well as the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group.

Aim:

The future we want is possible and WE can design a transition towards a more healthy liveable and just environment. It is possible to design urban solutions that tackle multiple challenges at once, whether you are a public, private or citizen stakeholder: This workshop will enable students to explore how to design solutions to urban social, economic and environmental challenges.

Program:

The students will select a city, assess the social/ environmental/ economic challenges that the city is currently facing, and will co-design a solution that tackles those challenges to transition to a more sustainable, healthier and just environment. The students will need to develop a concept, explain the stakeholders’ powers to develop the solution, and the several impacts on the communities.
