The Geothermal Group of the Chair is strongly contributing to the German Geothermal Congress (Deutscher Geothermiekongress – DGK) 2020 – in this year, of course, in digital form.  Two Presentations at the Workshop 3 “Angewandte Forschung und Entwicklung Projekt Geothermie Schäftlarnstraße/München“ on Monday the 9th of Nov. show part of the research the Group did in the framework of the Geothermal-Alliance-Bavaria and the Project GeoMare. The presentation of Daniela Pfrang, Daniel Bohnsack and Florian Heine is about the “petrophysical and hydrochemical interpretation of the Upper Jurassic Aquifer at the drilling Schäftlarnstarße/SWM” (“Petrophysikalische und hydrochemische Interpretation des Oberjura Aquifers der Bohrungen in der Schäftlarnstraße der Stadtwerke München”). Felix Schölderle presents a “cold water injection to determine the reservoir characteristics with the use of fiber optic technology” (“Kaltwasserinjektion zur Bestimmung von Reservoireigenschaften über faseroptische Messungen”).

Further Fabian Böttcher talks about the work of the project GEO.KW in Forum 3 (Shallow Geothermal Energy: Technical developments - Oberflächennahe Geothermie: Technische Entwicklungen) on Thursday the 12th of Nov. and presents the “optimization of the thermal use of groundwater for a decentral covering of the heat and cold demand in Munich” (“Optimierung der thermischen Grundwassernutzung für die dezentrale Wärme- und Kältebereitstellung in München”).

Also Florian Konrad shows some results of the work of the Geothermal-Alliance of Bavaria in the Forum 6 Deep Geothermal Energy: Investigations in the South Molasse Basin (Tiefe Geothermie: Untersuchungen im süddeutschen Molassebecken) on Thursday the 12th of Nov. He presents the topic “Productivity enhancement of geothermal wells through fault zones: efficient numerical evaluation of a parameter space for the Upper Jurassic aquifer of the North Alpine Foreland Basin“.

In this Forum as well as in Forum 9 “Deep Geothermal: Results of Projects around the world” the group is contributing to the Congress having the chair of these two sessions and taking part within the scientific committee.
