Alberto Albarran and Kai Zosseder published a paper on the geostatistically modelling of the basis of the quarternary aquifer in the munich gravel plain in teh German Journal of Geology. 30,000 drilling profiles were quality controled and used to model the basis of the quarternary aquifer in the munich gravel plain with a geostatistical approach. In this apporach the different uncertainty in teh investigation area was integrated and also mapped. The detailed geostatistical modelling of the relief surface results in a very heterogeneous picture of the Quaternary/Tertiary boundary in the MGP with the presence of both meander-shaped channels and plateaus
