Water flow in the unsaturated zone

Fatemeh’s paper is accepted for Groundwater. Her new paper on the understanding of water flow and isotope transport in the unsaturated zone has some special aspects for us. This paper represents the basic of a new research topic of one of our groups. There we want to study the transport of pesticides and their microbial degradation processes in lysimeters using stable water and carbon isotopes linked with analytical lumped-parameter modelling.

In addition, this paper is also dedicated to the memory of our wonderful colleague and friend, Prof. Dr. Ing. Piotr Maloszewski from the Institute of Groundwater Ecology, who was also a former PhD mentor of one of our students and the „father“ of lumped-parameter models.
