Field work in the Andes, South America

Theresa, Riccardo and Johannes (and other researchers) started their field campaign at Cotopaxi volcano. (Ecuador, South America). During their 3-week stay, they perform electrical resistivity tomographies (ERT) and seismic measurements to reveal potential hazards induced by permafrost degradation. The results contribute to improve the management of natural disasters including strategies to reduce cascading effects in the Andes (RIESGOS project).
