Riccardo Scandroglio joins the TUM Landslide Research Group as a PhD candidate

Riccardo Scandroglio joined this month the TUM Landslide Research as a PhD student. He is part of the HydroPF project that works on deciphering critical hydrostatic pressure levels in permafrost rock, key control of slope failure. The international project combines competences on rock-ice mechanics in thawing permafrost rocks (Prof. Michael Krautblatter, TUM Landslide Research), relative gravimetrical techniques (Prof. Roland Pail, TUM Chair of Astronomical and Physical Geodesy) and thermal permafrost/snow models (Dr. Marcia Phillips, WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF).

Thanks to the support of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) though the TUM International Graduate School of Science and Engineering (IGSSE), HydroPF is financed for 3 years.
