During July and August Saskia participated on a scientific expedition to Herschel Island (Yukon Territory, Canada). Her focus was on geophysical measurements of retrogressive thaw slumps to gain a better process understanding. Also laserscans of this giant mass movements were executed.
This international arctic expedition was leaded by the Alfred Wegener Institute Potsdam. Also researchers form the Alfred Wegener Institut Helgoland and the Max-Plank-Institut Bremen participated.
