Chair of Landslide Research

Carolin Kiefer joined the TUM Landslide Research Group

Carolin Kiefer joined the TUM Landslide Research Group as a PhD student working on debris flow dynamics in the Northern European Alps. She completed her BSc in Applied Geosciences at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and her MSc in Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology at the TUM.
Her research interest as a PhD student focuses on deciphering enhanced debris flow frequencies in Alpine lakes coincident to Holocene climatic fluctuations. Amphibious investigations of active debris flow fans and sediment cores providing long-term debris flow records are implemented in cooperation with researchers from the Universities of Innsbruck and Erlangen. The objective is to assess driving factors of changes in debris flow activity.
