International Conference on Bridges in Danube Basin

The International Conference on Bridges in Danube Basin (ICBDB) has become a traditional international event in bridge engineering, initiated by Prof. Miklós Iványi and organised periodically each third year in different Danube countries. The first conference after the pandemic, the Eleventh International Conference on Bridges in Danube Basin, will take place at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in November 2024, aiming to analyse present trends in bridge research, design, construction and rehabilitation in Danube countries.

The general goal of the ICBDB is the overall exchange of knowledge and experience between different institutions, owners, designers and contractors, as well as scientific experts. The selected papers presented at the conference relate on the one hand to innovative bridges over the Danube and its tributaries. On the other hand, the conference addresses recent advances in bridge research and engineering and, in view of the ageing infrastructure, also focuses on the assessment, monitoring and rehabilitation of existing bridges.

Call for Abstracts

The Scientific Committee invites all potential participants wishing to contribute to the scientific program of ICBDB 2024 to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentation. The general scope of the conference is bridge engineering. All papers related to the following topics are welcome:

  • Large Span Danube Bridges, Innovative Bridge Structures
  • Sustainable Maintenance and Rehabilitation
  • New trends in Bridge Engineering, Bridge Dynamics and Monitoring
  • Planning & Construction for Traffic Infrastructure
  • BIM and general Digital Methods in Bridge Design and Construction
  • Sustainable Bridges, Life-Cycle and Bridge Management

We are looking forward to receiving many interesting presentation proposals and kindly invite you to submit abstracts by June 15, 2024. The abstracts (with pro-posed title, author name(s) and contact details; max. 200-300 words) should be written in English and sent to: danube.bridges.2024.mb@ed.tum.de. Authors with accepted abstracts will be requested to prepare a full paper; all accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings (digital) and receive an individual doi number. Authors are reminded that submitted papers must not be under consideration by any other journal or publication.
